Rome Day 2...August 4, 2011

We arranged for a car to take us to our apartment in Rome.  Dave found the apartment through Owners Direct online…and we thought we’d give it a shot!  Why not!  We got to the apartment and the landlord (who spoke some English…but not really a lot!) gave us the grand tour and some pointers!  The apartment had a large entry way hallway, a dining room/family room with a TV, pull out couch, DVD player and Wi-Fi.  We also had a full kitchen (with clothes washer), a bathroom, and bedroom.  It was really quite spacious!  The family room and bedroom also both had air conditioning…which was amazing!  We would close the doors to those rooms during the day and it’d be lovely at night!
The keys!  I became a master at using the big one!  :)

Our apartment had a wonderful location!  We were right between the Spanish Steps and Piazza de Popolo…in the heart of the shopping district.  Chanel, Dior, Jimmy Choo, Escada, Dolce, Prada, Gucci, Versace, etc.!!!!  We spent the day getting aquatinted with our location and the area and took in some sights.  We made our way to the Pantheon as well.  SO amazing!

Dave was super on top of things and downloaded a bunch of Rick Steves audio-guides and we were able to share them on our walk.  It was a great beginning to a wonderful vacation!
